Outstanding Customer Service Leadership Award
The Outstanding Customer Service Leadership Award recognizes a leader in a department, division, program or institution who, through his or her leadership in customer service, has made a significant, positive impact on customer service to the citizens and customers of the University System of Georgia over the last year.
Gold Institution
Linda Lyons
Director, The Center for University Learning
Kennesaw State University
Initiative: With her “take-charge” attitude, Ms. Lyons felt that it was important to acknowledge individuals who often go beyond the call of duty in their job performance; this led Linda to establish Kennesaw’s Shining Star Recognition Program. The implementation of this program allows for a mechanism in place that acknowledges and rewards outstanding work performance in the areas of customer service, communication, and in building relationships. These behaviors enhance not only the services and vision of departments, but promote a culture of service throughout the campus. This new incentive program has been very well received by the campus community. To date there have been over 200 employees nominated for this honor.
